Artist Bio

Born in Northwest Indiana, I attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1997 - 2000 and finished my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Art at Herron School of Art and Design in 2007.   I continued with my academic career at Maine College of Art and acquired an MFA in 2009.   Since then, I have retained a spirited studio practice and a distinctive signature thread throughout my entire body of work.  Each piece is assembled with thoughtfulness  and delicate care.

My work is informed by an interest in architecture as a living organism, the evolution of personal and objective narrative in dwellings and a playfulness in composition.  In each piece, there are equal parts sincerity, provocation and dry humor.  I have tried to categorize the thread within each work and the category  I drew up was Intuitional Abstract.  My line and palette are driven with sentimentality.  Tapping into emotion, nostalgia, and capturing a heightened occasions.  My paintings and prints become a souvenir and my way of offering those two dimensional and extraordinary moments.

  • I highly recommend Anna! We commissioned Anna to paint a picture of our house and she did an amazing job. We had lots of communication about what we wanted and what we liked and the finished piece is more beautiful than we could have imagined. Anna totally captured the cosy, loving feeling our house gives us and everyone compliments us on the picture. Thanks Anna! Have plenty of ideas for future commissions that I will be asking Anna for!

  • Anna's work is beautiful and thoughtful. I have commissioned her skills to capture, in paint, the places most dear to me and was not disappointed. I've also commissioned her services as gifts to friends. These are truly unique and special presents to give to loved ones. They are all loved and cherished. She has a unique style and eye that really reflects the emotion that architecture can evoke, really drawing out the meaning of home and putting it on canvas. Thanks Anna for your amazing work!
